Jessica L. Francis joined Wagner Law, PLLC in the Spring of 2024 in an Of Counsel position. Though she grew up across the lake from Kingwood in Huffman, Texas, her career as an attorney took flight in downtown Fort Worth. There she became proficient in all matters of insurance defense litigation, general commercial litigation, oil and gas master services contracts, and debt-collection matters.
Throughout her career as an attorney, Jessica has proven excellence in the art of composing motions. She also stands out in her attention to detail and investigation capabilities. A few key results include:
Rescuing a client’s <$1M personal injury settlement by disproving false claim of client's negligence and uncovering evidence of plaintiff’s continuous wheelchair use for a decade prior.
Composed multiple motions for sanctions during a multi-million-dollar lawsuit; persuaded judge to appoint auditor and examine defendant's accounts receivables, consequently ensuring issuance of check to client for $8M in money owed.
Prepared highly influencing motion for summary judgment, resulting in agreement to settle despite plaintiff’s continued obstinate non-cooperation in lawsuit involving an injured champion horse.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Jessica obtained her Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, in Agricultural Business from Sam Houston State University. After that, she spent the next five years in the Permian Basin employed by Halliburton. She worked in several departments including cementing, completion tools and hydraulic fracturing. While working full time for Halliburton, she obtained her Master of Business Administration from Texas Tech University. Seeking a career to better utilize her unique skillset, Jessica then made the decision to leave the oil patch behind and attend Baylor Law School.
